All college students can resonate with the common phenomena called the “cafeteria food”. Running to get a meal before a class, anxiously wondering what the food is while waiting in line, and then having to quickly decide and slap whatever food there is onto your plate. Some get excited, some get disgusted, and others in between, but what goes on behind the scenes? Who’s in charge of the emotions that go behind the sport of eating?

Meet Amanda Cadle, one of the five chefs’ Cornerstone University's Food Service puts pride in. Working at least five days a week, Amanda is never short of her hard working job. Not only does she get food out for the students day by day, but she does her best to make sure the food is desirable and well-made.

Despite the job being repetitive and somewhat tedious at times, Amanda finds company with her co-workers and friends. When working, you’ll often find her screaming or laughing at a story or some prank she decided to pull off. While off duty, you can rely that she is sitting at a table chatting away or playing an odd “unicorn game.” It is easy to say that Amanda brings an element of fun to the kitchen, and many students find joy in that despite a heavy load of classwork ahead.

Whether people know who's behind their food or not, those who know Amanda will tell you how hard working and fun she can be at the same time. So the next time you put a spoonful of food in your mouth, know that people like Amanda are working behind the scenes to make sure it's a good and memorable bite.
