Hannah starts her morning with breakfast. She will lose sleep in order to get food. She will also use this time to catch up on social media or last minute homework.

This particular morning she was really stressed out, so she took a few minutes to play with her guinea pigs Snickers and Peanut.

Once play time was over she started getting ready for the day.

and heads out the door.

Breaking News: The rubble of what was once Oliver Racing Parts lies in a skeleton-like heap after burning down unexpectedly on Sunday, April 12. The building, which is located near the intersection of Cedar Street and Clancy Avenue NE in Grand Rapids, was abandoned and empty at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The entire building is still completely fenced off...

...and the street remains closed and blocked.

Sabaoth Ministries/Base Camp, a kids' Bible ministry that seeks to reach the inner-city children of Grand Rapids, is currently located at Solomon's Porch in Jenison.

Kelly Ellis, the founder and leader of Sabaoth, begins every meeting by teaching a Bible story in a large group setting. Cornerstone Terra Firma students wait quietly in the back of the room, ready to assist with the activities to follow.

When the Bible story is done, Kelly separates the children into different groups based on what each child wants to do. One of the choices available for the kids is the opportunity to make a craft.

Several of the Base Camp girls receive directions on how to make the craft.

Kelly shows off tonight's finished craft: a fabric-covered pen with crazy hair and google eyes.

While some children choose to make a craft, others choose to play games on the ministry's collection of iPads. Cornerstone students oversee the games.

Others choose to visit the Snack Shop, which is managed by Kelly. The kids can "buy" from a large selection of candy, chips, and pop with points that they've earned throughout the night.

Still others decide to go outside for a game of volleyball in the waning sunlight; the Sabaoth meeting nears its close.

Meet Hannah. This girl has been one of my best friends for the past four years. I decided I would follow her around for a few days.

On this day when I got to her apartment she was just sitting down to eat lunch. Since her classes start in the late afternoon, she likes to spend her morning working on homework and most importantly in her pj's. Lunch is her break time, so she of course spends it on Facebook.










Once she was done with lunch, she wanted to relax after all the homework, so she spent some time playing with her guinea pigs, Snickers and Peanut.

A short time later, it is time for her to start getting ready for her day.

 Once ready, she heads out for the day.

Mary Poling is the administrative assistant for the Communication and Media Division at Cornerstone University. She is vital in assuring everything runs correctly and smoothly. She is valued by not only the professors but also the students. She has rightfully earned the nickname of "Comm Mom"

Carissa Hayden balances more than most students. Not only is she taking a heavy course load, but she is also a resident assistant in Babcock Hall and helps out with Sabbath Ministries.











Cornerstone University's Corum Student Union is a popular place for students to gather to hangout, study or ocasionally take a nap. The space is never void of activity.
