Benjamin DeYoung Photo Essay

College life is fun, exciting, tiring, sometimes boring, sometimes a bit sad, but its always new and different. I think that Ben Hoff, one of my best friends here at Cornerstone, showcases that college is just a whole bunch of random mishaps that tend to turn out in the end. College life was a big thing that everyone emphasized back when we were in high school, and its not as glamours as everyone made it out to be. Although it is fun at times, this photo series shows the grit of dorm life and the everyday style that someone goes though at a college like Cornerstone.

Ben starts his day off with a nice cup of coffee, but the anger sets in when he realized he didn't put any coffee grounds in the machine.

Ben puts a makeshift filter over his mug and tries to salvage what he can from the hot water.

The hallway seems like a marathon in the morning when Ben has to travel from his dorm room to the community style bathroom.

Someday's Ben spends a lot of time working in his room in to the wee hours of the night.

Ben sits across the room from Jake in silence, fixing the handle on the faulty dorm door for the fourth time.

It proves to be a struggle considering Ben has spend hours wrestling the broken door knob.

Ben slowly walks to the dumpster enjoying the nice day out after a big rain storm the night before.

Any moment to mess around is spent like a little treasure throughout the day.

Smart phones are something that has made this generation a bit less social then generations before, Ben and Brandi serve as an example for a few minuets.

Ben heads down the hallway towards his dorm to get ready to leave for the long Easter weekend.

With only a backpack and a coat Ben gets ready to fly back to Wisconsin.
