Nekoda Boggs - Photo Essay 1

The Northwestern Music Boosters have been a driving force to why the Northwestern band is so successful. Northwestern Local Schools is located in the little town of West Salem, Ohio and it's music program has thrived in Wayne County and the surrounding counties no thanks to their Music Boosters. These pictures will give you an accurate description of what the Music Boosters do but I will take time now to explain what exactly they do to help the band.
Every year the Music Boosters puts on a spaghetti supper to help raise money for not only the band but for they choir as well. The money that is raised with this event gets put to buying instruments for the students, trips to Cedar Point and new uniforms for the high school marching band. The students have a month to sell raffle tickets that will be announced on the first Saturday of the March. Local businesses help pitch in by donating baskets and packages to be given away at the raffle. The Friday night before the raffle there is a concert that the students put on and the range is 5th grade through high school.
Parents and the community can go to football games to see the marching band, three stage concerts and are invited to be a part of music boosters meetings that happen every second Tuesday of the month. This way the parents, teachers and community members may have a say in what happens to the money that was raised or to be aware of what is being done to grow the students musically.
